Age Requirements - Azamara Cruises

Azamara welcomes guests of all ages, but its cruise experience is primarily designed for adults. While children are allowed onboard, families are advised to reconsider bringing children under 18, as there are no dedicated activities or babysitting services available.

Infant and Age Requirements
For all sailings, infants must be at least 12 months old at the time of departure. On Grand Voyages, guests must be 21 years of age or older to book a stateroom. However, this age restriction is waived in the following cases:

  • Minor children sailing their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms
  • Married couples under 21 (with proof of marriage is required)

Parental and Guardian Responsibility applies to all guests traveling with minors and young adults. Azamara defines a minor as anyone under 18, while young adults are those aged 18, 19, or 20. Parents and guardians are fully responsible for supervising and managing the behavior of minors and young adults throughout the cruise, including transfers to and from the ship, inside cruise terminals, while onboard the ship, during shore excursions or visits to ports of call, and at private destinations.

It’s important to note that no guest under 18 may disembark at any port without being accompanied by a responsible adult. Parents or guardians must ensure that if they leave the ship, their minor children have appropriate supervision onboard.

Documentation for Minors Traveling with Non-Parents
For minors traveling with an adult who is not their parent or legal guardian, the following documents are required:

  • A valid passport and visa (if applicable), or the child’s birth certificate (original, notarized copy, or certified copy).
  • An original notarized letter signed by at least one parent authorizing the accompanying adult to supervise the child and consent to any necessary medical treatment.
  • If the adult is the legal guardian, a certified Certificate of Guardianship must be provided.

Failure to meet these requirements or provide proper documentation may result in the denial of boarding for the child and their accompanying party. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided by Azamara.
