The voltage in each suite matches both the U.S. standard (110 volts AC, flat prongs) and the European standard (220 volts AC, round prongs).
Your suite is equipped with 110-volt (American current) and 220-volt (European current) outlets for your convenience. You won't need adapters or converters for small appliances. However, the Silver Explorer only provides 220-volt/60Hz AC power and accepts Europlug or Type C plugs.
Uniworld River Cruises provides 220V/50Hz power with 2-pin "Schuko" outlets in Europe and onboard their ships. All staterooms also have 110V outlets. If you have electrical appliances from home, you may need an adapter and/or converter. Please ask your stateroom steward for assistance.
Viking Cruises offers both 110V and 220V outlets in your stateroom, with European style (2-pin) outlets with ground, except for two US 110V sockets above the desk and one on each side of the bed. There are no UK 3-pin sockets.
Azamara's ships have a designated smoking area on the portside forward section of the Pool Deck. Smoking is prohibited in all other areas of these ships, including public rooms, restaurants, the Pool Deck, staterooms and suites, verandas and hallways.
The safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all our guests has always been a key concern at Cunard. With this in mind, as a direct result of the feedback we have received from our guests, we have amended our policy with regards to smoking on board Cunard ships.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all staterooms and suites, on verandas, or in any area that is not specifically designated as a smoking area, which also includes all restaurants, lounges and the Casino.
Cigarette smoking is not permitted in any enclosed dining areas, whether it be the ships' main dining rooms or the alternate dining venues. Cigarette smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the outdoor Pool Grills.
Most areas on board are non-smoking, and smoking is not permitted in guest suites or guest suite verandas or balconies. However, cigarette, cigar, electronic cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in the Connoisseur's Corner and in specifically designated areas.
