Viking Torgil and Viking Hemming are two of the "baby" Longships that debuted in Portugal's Douro region in 2014. At a smaller size than the regular Longships, they are equipped with some great features. The top deck features a swimming pool, the first of its kind on a Viking Longship. Suites have been upgraded with walk-in closets and the decor is softer and more Portuguese-inspired. As the ships only carry 106 passengers, public space is more limited, but the lounge has an alfresco aspect and nooks in the dining room offer fresh air. Longships are also making green advances, with hybrid diesel-electric engines that burn less fuel and produce fewer emissions. Viking's baby Longships offer a great experience and plenty of modern features.
