Viking Longship Vilhjalm
Set Sail on the Famous Viking Longship Vilhjalm
Viking Vilhjalm is the latest Longship from Viking, a cruise line founded by Norwegian-born Torstein Hagen, inspired by the Viking heritage. This luxurious 443-foot vessel, part of the six-ship fleet launched in 2016, can accommodate up to 190 passengers in 95 cabins. The decor in the staterooms and public areas is light and airy, featuring muted color palettes and pale wood effects. The innovative design, with off-center corridors, has allowed Viking to introduce a large number of balcony cabins, a rarity on European river vessels. The largest staterooms are the two-room Explorer Suites with a wraparound balcony. The ship is equipped with "green" hybrid diesel-electric engines, making it very quiet. The main restaurant serves breakfast and lunch buffet with cooked-to-order items, and a three-course dinner with optional appetizers. The Aquavit Terrace offers a lighter breakfast and lunch alternative. Other facilities include a lounge bar with a dance floor, sun deck, laundry service, library, and free Wi-Fi. Viking is an adults-only cruise line; passengers must be 18 to sail.
