Named after the Norse goddess of the same name, Viking Var provides a luxurious escape on the rivers of Europe. Launched in 2013, this modern vessel features two-story, light-filled lobbies and streamlined staterooms with contemporary furnishings. Var offers 95 staterooms, with 190 passengers accommodated. There are two Explorer Suites, seven Veranda Suites, 39 Veranda Staterooms, 22 French Balcony Staterooms and 25 Standard Staterooms, all with outside views. Entertainment includes a lounge and bar, library corner, sun deck and walking track. Fares include meals, beer and wine, Wi-Fi, shore excursions, port charges and taxes. Optional excursions may involve lengthy bus rides. Meals are served in the main restaurant, lounge and bar, or Aquavit Terrace. The library has comfortable seating and excellent reading light. The ships' libraries carry approximately 80 books, in various languages but mostly English, and several games such as chess, backgammon and playing cards. Pick up a magazine or board game and enjoy it in the lounge just steps away.
