Viking Longship Sigrun
Soar Down the Danube in Luxury Aboard the Viking Longship Sigrun
Viking Cruises has added the Sigrun to its Longships fleet in March 2019, bringing a new level of luxury to the Rhine. Named after the leader of a band of horseback-riding Valkyries, the Sigrun boasts the same elegant lines and well-designed spaces that characterize the entire fleet. Passengers can expect an inclusive experience with included shore excursions that bring to life the cultural and historical highlights of each destination. In addition, optional for-fee excursions offer unique experiences like wine tasting or cooking classes. Onboard, the atmosphere is casual and friendly and daytime attire is comfortable for walking and motor coach tours. Evening attire can be elevated with the addition of jackets and dressier pieces, but remains relaxed. Dining options include The Restaurant, a buffet and menu combination, and Aquavit Terrace, which serves a tasting menu in a more formal setting. Beer, wine and soft drinks are included with all meals and there is a Silver Spirits beverage package available for purchase. Staterooms range from 150 square feet for river-view to 445 square feet for Explorer suites, with features like heated floors, showers and a mini-bar, as well as ample closet and drawer space, multiple electrical outlets and device charging ports. The top deck features outdoor seating and activities like walking tracks, chess, putting and shuffleboard. Evening entertainment in the lounge includes keyboardists and local entertainers, as well as game nights and cooking demonstrations. The Sigrun sails the eight-day Rhine Getaway between Basel and Amsterdam and guests must be 18 or older to sail. Book your voyage and experience the Viking difference for yourself!
