Plus, Viking has installed a small swimming pool on the Sun Deck. Itineraries are round trip from Porto, Portugal, and include stops in tiny villages like Pinhao, Regua and Barca d'Alva. Plus, there is a day trip to the gorgeous university town of Salamanca, Spain. Add-ons are available for Lisbon, Madrid and Santiago de Compostela, Spain. You won't find big sights or cities along the Douro, and transfers to places of interest will take at least 45 minutes. Unfortunately, there is no nighttime navigation, so you may miss out on the river's stunning scenery. Viking Helgrim is the perfect ship for exploring the beautiful Douro River.
