Viking Aton, the second vessel in Viking's Nile fleet, is set to launch in August 2023. The 82-passenger cruise ship features many of the same trademark details of Viking's famed European river and ocean vessels, including an indoor and outdoor Aquavit Terrace, distinctive square bow, and luxurious Scandinavian design. The 41 staterooms are all river-facing and span across three decks. Entry-level cabins include 12 standard cabins on the lower deck, while the middle deck has 21 Veranda Staterooms. Upper deck cabins include six 409-square-foot Veranda Suites and the two 525-square-foot Explorer Suites with private balconies, mini-bars, and complimentary laundry and shoe shine service. Public areas on Viking Aton include a restaurant, lounge and bar, sun deck with a pool, library, and shop. Passengers also have the option to take private excursions to the tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens, the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings, and explore historical sites in the UK. Viking Aton will operate on the 11-night Pharaohs & Pyramids round-trip Cairo itinerary, combining four nights in Cairo with a seven-night sailing on the Nile. An optional four-night pre-cruise extension in the U.K. is also available. Viking Aton is 236 feet long with 65 crew members and 82 passengers at full occupancy.
