The Ultimate Vacation Adventure: Sail the Silver Ray
Silversea is launching the second of their Nova Class ships, Silver Ray, in summer 2024. The 728 passenger vessel follows sister ship Silver Nova and will feature an all-new "horizontal" design plus all-balcony cabins with butler service. Silver Ray's space-to-guest ratio is 75 GRT (gross register tonnage) per passenger and a 1:1.3 crew-to-guest ratio, plus large areas of glass including sea-facing elevators with glass walls. Cabins come in 13 categories and start at 357 square feet with verandas and walk-in closets. The largest staterooms are the pair of Otium Suites, which measure 1,324 square feet and include a 431-square-foot veranda with a whirlpool. The eight onboard dining options include S.A.L.T. Kitchen with destination-inspired menus, Grill, Spaccanapoli pizzeria, Kaiseki for Asian-fusion dishes and French fine dining restaurant La Dame. Silver Ray is being constructed with eco-friendly emission-free technology, including fuel cells and batteries, plus LNG as its main fuel. It has a micro auto gasification system to reduce onboard waste volume and is projected to achieve an Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) rating of approximately 25 percent better than the current requirements set out by International Maritime Organization (IMO). Silver Ray's maiden voyage is a 10-night itinerary from Athens (Piraeus) to Venice departing on July 19, 2024. It will spend the rest of the inaugural season in the Mediterranean on various 6- to 11-night voyages, then reposition to Fort Lauderdale to spend the spring 2025 season in South America.
