Experience the Arctic's Natural Wonders with Hurtigruten's MS Fram Cruise

Fram, the latest and smallest ship in Hurtigruten's fleet, was designed for expedition cruises to the most remote places on Earth. Launched in 2007, the ship spends the Northern Hemisphere's warmer months exploring Greenland, Iceland and Svalbard; during the austral summer, Fram takes passengers on lengthy transatlantic crossings between the poles. Inspired by the wooden sailing ship built in 1892 for Fridtjof Nansen's North Pole expedition, Fram (pronounced frahm) offers a true polar expedition experience. Polar-themed artwork by Arctic-region artists adorns the walls, with glass sculptures resembling icebergs on the stairway landings. Historic objects from the Fram Museum in Oslo, Norway, are also on display. The interior of the ship is stylish and inviting, with warm blond woods, luxurious fabrics and spotless public areas. Passengers feel comfortable and connected, with just two main gathering spots for conversation and relaxing. Expedition crewmembers and scientific experts are often available for a chat and answer questions after enrichment presentations. The onboard atmosphere is casual, with sweaters and slacks or jeans acceptable at dinner. All passengers are given a hooded parka to use onboard and bring home as a souvenir. Most of the Fram's passengers are fit adventure-seekers in the 50-and-older age range, with a mix of non-North American and American/Asian travelers. P.A. announcements are given in English and at least one other language, and lectures are also presented in two languages. Explore the remote regions of the world in comfort and style with Norwegian Coastal Line Hurtigruten's ship Fram.
