Take a Voyage of Discovery Aboard the Avalon Poetry II Cruise

Avalon Poetry II is one of the smaller vessels among the Avalon Waterways' suite ship fleet. Launched in 2014, this 128-passenger ship is 82 feet shorter than most of the other ships in its class. Its sister ships are the Visionary and Artistry II, which were released in 2012 and 2013 respectively. The smaller size of Poetry II is particularly noticeable in the number of staterooms onboard and the square footage of the forward lounge and dining room. Despite its compact size, the ship still features Avalon's signature design, with the 11-by-7-foot panoramic, sliding-glass doors of the panorama suites. These innovative doors open up the accommodations, providing stunning views and extra square footage. The lower decks of the ship are designed with a split-level layout, making the ship feel larger than it is. The reception and main lounge span across the third deck, while the top deck offers two separate spaces for sun-seekers and those who wish to chat or read a book. Inside the cabins, guests can enjoy memory foam mattress toppers, flat-screen TVs, marble countertops, glass shower doors, and L'Occitane bath products. The onboard dining experience is a highlight, with buffet-style breakfast and lunch and superb dinners featuring both adventurous and ‘always available’ menus. Plus, cruises on Poetry II are very port-intensive, so there are plenty of opportunities to sightsee and explore European history.
