Q. Who
can join CruiseDirector.com?
A:
CruiseDirector.com service is intended for travel professionals;
independent travel agents, and cruise-only agents with established
sales in travel who are serious about spending less time on non-revenue
generating administrative issues, making more money and are willing
to spend the time doing what they do best - selling travel.
Q. How much money
will I make?
A: Agents
will earn the most competitive commission plus the possibility of
added bonus commissions for selling CruiseDirector's Blocked Group
space and specific products. You will determine how much you earn
by setting your own goals and hours.
Q.When are my commissions
paid?
A: Individual
commissions received from suppliers in the calendar month will be paid to
you on the 15th of the following month.
Q. Will I receive
information on FAM Trips and travel specials?
A: Yes. Supplier
specials and FAM trip offers will be provided on our web site and e-mailed
directly to you.
Q. Is there an annual
fee?
A:
No. Cruise Director for agents does not charge an annual
fee.
Q. What is the set-up
cost?
A: A one-time
*refundable set-up fee depending on the plan you select upon application
approval. Go to our Fees and Features
page to learn more. The set up fee will be fully refunded after a certain
sales volume has been achieved.
Q. What is my monthly
expense?
A:
Cruise Director for agents has a selection of plans
with the following technology fees:
Standard Plan - $0.00/month
Pro Agent Plan - $29.00/month
Premium Pro Agent Plan - $39.00/month
Q. Do I need to change
my agency name?
A:
No. You keep your own business identity when joining CruiseDirector.com.
Q. Will I be able
to book my groups and what are the benefits?
A:
CruiseDirector's block group space program is designed to offer
price advantages and amenities for the traveler by providing the
widest inventory of cruise group block space, which is predominantly
the lowest cruise price available from the cruise lines. In addition
to providing a higher level of service to you and your clients,
our cruise block space program will provide booking opportunities
available exclusively to CruiseDirector members.
Q. What about
amenities?
A:
The CruiseDirector's Cruise Department will decide what amenities
will benefit the member and the client the most, although the individual
consideration will be given to members who post and fulfill multiple
bookings.

Q. What kind of equipment
will I need?
A: You must
have a computer with Internet access and a separate phone line. We highly
recommend using a high-speed Internet connection such as a DSL or Cable Modem.
In addition, you will need a Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser, version
5.0 or higher. You can download the most current version of IE at Microsoft's
website.
Q. Which cruise lines
can I sell?
A:
Through CruiseDirector, Agents can book their customers into 95%
of the world's cruise lines. CruiseDirect's preferred status with
travel suppliers gives outside agents' access to special pricing
and services.
Q. What type of training
is available?
A:
CruiseDirector offers interactive training programs, training manuals,
an annual convention and seminars at sea.
Q. How do I make
reservations for my customers?
A:
Agents will use CruiseDirector's online booking system or contact
the cruise line to make reservations and make initial deposits.
Agents will follow CruiseDirector's simple procedures to ensure
the correct data, deposits and final payments reach the cruise lines/CruiseDirector
according to cruise line requirements.
Q. Who will process
and mail out tickets to customers?
A:
Tickets are mailed out from the cruise lines to CruiseDirector.com,
where they are processed and sent by U.S. Priority Mail.
Q. What about customers'
deposits and final payments?
A:
Your customers' deposits and final payments go directly to the cruise
lines. CruiseDirector.com does not hold customer payments.
Q. Will
CruiseDirector provide any kind of marketing services?
A:
Yes. As a member of CruiseDirector.com you will have access to a
variety of tailored marketing solutions that bring results and generate
new business.
Q. Will
CruiseDirector's marketing department capture and market client
information and market directly to the end consumer?
A:
CruiseDirector's marketing department will not gather marketing
data that would be used to bypass the agent. This program is designed
to support your agency business. You will maintain access to all
data regarding your customers.
We encourage you and your agents to use this data to build your
business through the various marketing programs offered by CruiseDirector.com.
Q. What
type of back office support does CruiseDirector.com provide?
A:
With our state-of-the-art booking system, preferred status with
travel suppliers and expert product management team, outside agents
can easily search from our live cruise inventory or thousands of
blocked cabins and book clients into the right cabin at the right
price. With our state-of-the-art support program, outside agents
can focus on selling while CruiseDirector.com manages ticket fulfillment,
accounting, etc.
Q. Do I need to know
one of the CRS/GDS languages (i.e. Sabre)?
A: No. GDS
knowledge is not necessary for using our leading edge booking system.
